Race Recaps

Bloomsday (too young to remember years!) – Great memories of running/walking with my Mom

Jingle Bell Run 5k, Seattle (2004) – Thanks to my lovely rommate, Laurel, this was my first official race where I ran the whole course. Loved it!

St. Paddy’s Day Run 5k, Seattle (2006) – This was the first race that I accidentaly “ran” over someone…and it happened to be a little boy 😦

Big Lake Half, New Hampshire (2010) 1:48:47 – During my dietetic internship, a group of us interns decided to run a half marathon together. It was the first for all of us. Three of us finished and since then, we’ve all completed marathons!

Snake River Canyon Half, Pullman (2011) 1:45:06– Ran this with my favorite running buddy, Jen! This was also the first race where I got super pissed at the girl drafting off my left shoulder…thanks for the motivation smoke you at the half-way point.

Coeur d’Alene Marathon (2011) 3:56:16 – First marathon! Great support from my Mom and Megan, aka “coach.” Course was beautiful that morning. Made my goal of under 4 hours and beat both my co-workers…sorry Jay!

Foster Kids 5k, Seattle (2011) 23:32 – Great run for an even greater cause. Got my first medal in this race by placing 3rd overall female finisher. Needless to say, the race wasn’t too big.

Komen Race for the Cure, Coeur d’Alene (2011) 23:02 – Bad experience related to this race! Let’s just say, if you’re a runner, you’ve experienced what I’m talking about!!

Eugene Marathon (2012)3:34:46 – Great course, great fans (hubby, brother and mother-in-law) and great time! Flat flat flat course next to the river. Was SUPER nervous for this race as I was coming off a three-week ankle roll injury. Ended up qualifying for Boston!

Tough Mudder (2012) – Completed as a group and LOVED every minute! 26 obstacles over 12 miles of mud, walls, electrical wires and ice baths. All going to support the Wounded Warrior Project…couldn’t think of a better way to spend my money or my weekend.

Orange County Half Marathon (2013) 1:50:07 – First race with the hubby! Signed up to do the full but slacked off on my training. Bad experiences but great memories!
Vancouver Half Marathon (2014) 1:46:07 – Well, almost a PR. This was a great race. Felt great the entire time and had a wonderful finish. Three co-workers also ran! AND…I found out 3 days later that I was PREGNANT 🙂
Champoeg Half Marathon (2015) 1:47:18 – This was my first race post-baby. And it was absolutely wonderful! Perfect weather, ran with one of my closest friends and I felt physically and mentally great. Emotionally, it was a roller coaster to be back to running and the joy of seeing my family (husband, brother, dad) and baby girl at the finish line was pure bliss.
